We are delighted that Eylül Sevinç Sevinç from Koç University has been awarded funding from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) to join our lab for a summer research project.

Eylül is about to start the final year of her BSc, where she is specialising in both Molecular Biology and Genetics as well as Computer Engineering. She joins us following multiple research projects at Heidelberg University, the Koç University Artificial Intelligence Center, and the Koç University Research Center for Translational Medicine. Her experience is particularly relevant to our work on AI and genomics, having developed models for chromatin accessibility and transcription factor binding during development.

In Cambridge, Eylül will lead an AI engineering project on DNA repair, laying the groundwork for a new tool during her time with us. We are very grateful for TÜBİTAK's support, as well as the opportunity to have Eylül work with us.
