We're delighted that our postdoc Francisco Berkemeier won the prize for best postdoc poster at the annual Research in Genetics departmental symposium. Francisco's poster highlighted his recent work on the theory and mathematical modelling of whole-genome replication in human cells. Some of this work was recently published in Nature Communications, but he also featured new and exciting research he's been working on to drive these methods forward.

Francisco has always excelled at making really complex mathematical concepts easy to understand, and this has been evident throughout his research and teaching activities at Cambridge. In addition to his many research seminars, he has also given supervisions for Part IA Mathematics and lectures on modelling with partial differential equations for Part III Systems Biology.
